fnatic tops Group B; TyLoo.raw 2nd
The second day of ESL GC Shanghai has ended with fnatic topping their group and TyLoo.raw coming in close behind.
Both teams got off to great starts as TyLoo.raw opened things up with a 16-4 win over wNv on Nuke, while fnatic destroyed Inner Mongolia 16-1 on the same map. They then switched opponents with fnatic taking down wNv 16-7 on Nuke and TyLoo.raw dropping eight rounds to Inner Mongolia on Train. Heading into the third round, both fnatic and TyLoo.raw had already secured their spots in the playoffs and would face off to determine seeding.
They met up on Inferno where fnatic took the opening pistol round on their CT side. They would run the score up to 5-0 before a well-timed split at A from TyLoo.raw saw the Chinese take their first round. The Swedes immediately countered with an aggressive push to steal away the momentum and take a 7-1 lead. From there on it was all TyLoo.raw as they made a huge comeback to end the half 8-7 in favor of fnatic.
In the second half, fnatic won the pistol yet again with a nicely executed attack on the A bomb site. They saw themselves take a 12-8 lead before Savage came up huge with four AWP frags to keep the match within reach. The two teams would begin trading rounds which heavily favored the attacking Swedes and TyLoo.raw eventually succumbed to the pressure as they lost the match 16-13.
Fnatic will be taking on Natus Vincere in the best-of-three semi-final tomorrow in what is surely a much anticipated match-up. On the other side of the bracket will be a battle of the Chinese squads as TyLoo and TyLoo.raw take each other on as we find out which is the better of the TyLoo squads.
